                                        Class of 1960

                                   Classmates’ Luncheon

                                      July 28, 2017

Eighteen classmates attended our 42nd “Class of ‘60 Luncheon”, at Lodi Lake, and twenty-one in all.

Those in attendance were:  Chip Adams, Bill Belforte, John Bender and spouse, Cara, Sharon Christopherson and spouse, Ron Wilson, Gayle Deutscher and spouse, Mel Stryle, Marlene Hunter, Karen, Krause, Larry Leno, Fred McFarland, Dennis Morita, Judy Remmick, Marsha Sanger, Mavis Seibel and spouse Don Cook, Ron Suess, Mike Sullivan, Janet Woehl and Janice Woehl.

Emails of regret, or they responded to my last update, #41, and tell everyone hello, came from: Kathleen Banegas, Linda Bender, Maralyn Blewett, Judy Bouska, Diane Brusch, Dave Cristofani, Carolyn DeVinny, Clyde Ehrhardt, Starla Filler, Cherie Flower, Claire Fujita, Bob Fuller, Hideo Harada, Dona Holmes, Janie Keir, Nileta Lerza, Joyce Leventini, Sandy Lind, Carolyn Marshall, Dennis Mettler, Susan Nitta, Marilyn Ostermann, Lanel Peden, Annette, Reiswig, Elisa Righetti, Robert Rocque, Pat Sanguinetti, Shirley Savig, Maxine Schaffer, Bob Schenone, Donna Schumacher, Marlene Stout, Sharon Tanaka, Madeline Terrell, Lynette Walther, Kathy Welsh, Dewey Willis, Janet Woehl, Janice Woehl, and Mike Zeitner.

After lunch, a “Sharing Session” was held. Everyone participated and shared interesting, fun items. EVERYONE looked terrific, and had a fun time chatting with each other. My plastic orange bucket with potential water balloons remained untouched. Clyde, you needed to be there in order to organize the balloon-toss-event.

The weather was PERFECT complete with a Delta Breeze.

Marlene Hunter brought along grammar school photos and

articles from the newspaper. Judy Remmick said that she’ll put the Needham School photo on her website. Judy was wearing her Class of 60 T-shirt.

We had THREE first-timers: Chip Adams, Bill Belforte, and

Dennis Morita. Hopefully, we’ll see you again. Bill lives in Lodi for four months of each year, and then to Daphne, Alabama, for the remainder.

Karen Krause mentioned how fortunate we are to be able

to still gather together, share memories, and celebrate the day.

Mavis Seibel recently had knee surgery, and after a major setback, is

getting around very well.

I recently talked with Norma Peterson who had surgery to have part of her colon

removed. A PET scan revealed two hot spots, so she will be heading back for

chemo and radiation. I’m sure a call or note with words of encouragement would

be appreciated.

Here’s a photo of Argie Smith the day before he had surgery

to replace one of his shoulders. I called him to see how’s he’s

doing, and he said that it’s been four weeks now, and he’s mending according to schedule.

He will have the other shoulder repaired also. I’m sure he’d appreciate a call or e-mail.

Our next gathering will be Friday, October 28, 2017, at Lodi Lake, gathering around 11:30. I discovered that only if you rent the area will they clean it. A very nice workman gave me extra towels to speed along the process.

Please forgive me if I forgot to mention someone or in someway neglected something. Mea Culpa.

The message on my tea bag this morning said, “When the dawn of simplicity comes in life, complications leave.” (KISS)

Enjoy life; it does have an expiration date!

PS:   If you’d like to be deleted from this list of LUHS Class of ‘60 e-dresses, just let me know and it will happen; I won’t send out further updates to you. I’ve included everyone’s e-dress, not just the classmates who attended this event.

It’s nice to be important, BUT

it’s more important to be NICE.
