From Marsha Sanger:

#48 Update Class of 1960

January 25, 2019 Round Table Pizza

Twenty-six gathered together at Round Table Pizza on Friday, January 25, 2019, for a good dose of chatting, laughing, sharing, and camaraderie. Do you know that we have THE BEST group of classmates anyone could ever ask for? What a wonderful mix of lives lived (and still living), stories to tell and great memories of those who can bring up names/dates from yesteryear. The group, as always, was welcoming, casual, friendly, and ready to be present and accounted for and willing to participate.

Thank you to Cathleen Bjelland and Faye Doty for helping me set up the tables for our “Class Meeting”. Those who gathered were: Chip Adams, Kathleen Banegas, John Bender, Grover Bethards, Cathleen Bjelland, John Blaufus, Sharon Christopherson and spouse Ron Wilson, Gayle Deutscher and spouse, Mel Streyle, Faye Doty, Max Frazier & spouse, Tonya, Larry Leno, Carolyn Marshall, Annette Reiswig, Marsha Sanger, Shirley Savig, Mavis Seibel, Ron Suess, Mike Sullivan, Corky Veit, Kathy Welsh, Janet Woehl, Janice Woehl and youngest sister Joanie Woehl.

These wonderful classmates sent an e-mail of regret or responded to my last update from our #47 gathering or I saw out and about: Bill Belforte, Judy Bouska, Janice Buchmiller, Dianne Cooper, Dave Cristofani, Carolyn DeVinny, Katy Daughtery, Tom Dearborn, Fred Dunnett, Clyde Ehrhardt, Starla Filler, Claire Fujita, Bob Fuller, Marjorie Garrison, Faye Graddy, Dolores Gribuado, Dona Holmes, Janie Keir, Judie Keir, Karen Krause, Nileta Lerza, Georgia Maul, Robert Okamura, Pat Sanguinetti, Maxine Schaffer, Bob Schenone, Donna Schumacher, Barbara Thompson, Lynette Walther, Lynette Weidner and Dewey Willis.

We have unfortunately had to give our final good-byes to one of our classmates since our last update, Terry Krause, and I will attach his obituary here:

We brought our “class meeting” to order by sitting in a “circle” facing each other and introducing him/herself and giving a brief update. EVERYONE was a very willing participant. ALL were in fine form, as usual. Annette made a funny statement, and that started the bantering from every corner of the room. It really doesn’t seem to take too much to entertain us.

A first-timer, Grover Bethards, joined us, as he said that he felt that he needed to check in before checking out. He’s now retired and moved back to Lodi and spends much of his time hunting and fishing. He’s basically living the good life.

Chip said that you can find him on youtube playing the piano. I just went online and found him. Type in Elliott Adams playing the piano. I’m impressed!

At our next luncheon, April 26, 2019, we’ll start planning our next reunion in 2020, and will do so at these gatherings. So, please do join in and bring your input.

Here’s a poem written by Agnes Gonxga Bojaxhiu, Mother Teresa, and are definite words to live by.

Life Is – An inspirational Poem by Mother

Teresa

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is beauty, admire it.

Life is a dream, realize it.

Life is a challenge, meet it.

Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it.

Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it.

Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is a tragedy, confront it. Life is an adventure, dare it. Life is luck, make it.

Life is too precious, do not destroy it. Life is life, fight for it.

So, HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU until we meet again. Stay healthy, active, happy and grateful. CELEBRATE EVERY DAY!

TTFN Marsha
